Uniboard, a wood-based-panels producer in Canada, is planning to increase its production ¬capacities at its Val D'Or location and has consequently commissioned BÜTTNER to deliver a flake dryer along with the required heating system.
BÜTTNER will be supplying a single-path drum dryer sized 5.4 x 26 R that has been designed for a flake throughput of 40 tonnes per hour. It is to be equipped with a flash tube pre-dryer and a discharge box.
The BÜTTNER combination burner will possess a nominal performance of 50 MW and is to be fuelled by wood dust, gas and light oil. These fuels can be burned separately or in combination with each other. It is to be built on a vertical brick-lined combustion chamber, that will possess a thermal-oil heat exchanger to be fitted in the radiation area. This will allow flue gases for the dryer and 12 MW thermal oil to be produced in a single combustion chamber. This plant concept is characterised by its compact design, more efficient use of the radiated heat and thus lower investment and running costs.
The drying plant along with the ventilation equipment and supporting ¬steel structure is to be delivered in the first quarter of 2016.
