The Egger Group operates a particle board plant with an indirectly heated tube-bundle drum dryer at its production location in Rambervillers. BÜTTNER has been commissioned to turn this dryer into a directly heated single-path drum dryer while re-using the existing drum shell, bearings and drive.

The flake dryer sized 4.8 x 24 R will possess a flake throughput of 30 tonnes per hour. BÜTTNER will be supplying completely new internals, a flash-tube pre-dryer, a discharge box and the entire ventilation equipment for the refit.

The heating is to be realised with a vertical brick-lined combustion chamber, that will be heated by a 30 MW BÜTTNER combination burner fuelled by wood dust and gas that can be burned separately or in combination with each other.

The delivery is planned for the second quarter of 2016.
