The Canada-based Norbord OSB-manufacturing company, will be installing a second drying line at its plant in Inverness, Scotland. The order for the new OSB drum dryer with the associated energy plant has been placed with Büttner.

The 6.5 x 36 R single-path drum dryer will have a throughput capacity of 45 tonnes per hour of dry strands and will be supplied from the 500 cubic-metre-capacity horizontal wet-material-dosing bin that is also going to be delivered by Büttner.

The energy plant will generate 41 megawatts of flue gas to heat the dryer and – in addition to the moving floor and conveyors for the fuel storage – will also include the brick lining.

The delivery of the dryer and the energy plant is to be completed by the end of 2019.
