BÜTTER has been commissioned with the replacement of the fan as well as the discharge box, ducting, cyclone parts and the trough chain conveyor underneath.

The wood-based-panels producer, Norbord Europe, operates a particleboard plant with a drum dryer by a different manufacturer at its Cowie location in Scotland. The increased use of different types of recycled wood has caused excessive wear on the fan and parts of the exhaust air system.

BÜTTER has been commissioned with the replacement of the fan as well as the discharge box, ducting, cyclone parts and the trough chain conveyor underneath.

At the same time, the dryer will be converted in such a way that the fan will be positioned behind the cyclone separators. The dryer's mechanical throughput and water-evaporation capacity are also to be increased.

The special challenge that this task presents is the fact that the conversion has to be completed before the end of the year and the plant can only be stopped for a maximum of 10 days.
