BÜTTNER has been commissioned to deliver a single-path drum dryer.

Agro Kuban Holding is one of the largest conglomerates to work in agriculture in south Russia and it operates in the Krasnodar region with a workforce of just on 5,000 employees. Its activities range from the cultivation of wheat, barley, sunflowers, soy, maize and sugar beet through animal husbandry (pigs and cattle) for dairy and meat products to the production of sugar, seeds and flour.

The Svoboda sugar factory in Ust Labinsk employs around 500 people to produce around 80,000 tonnes of white sugar a year from 600,000 tonnes of sugar beet. It was decided within the scope of factory modernisation and performance improvement to install another drum dryer in addition to the existing two beet-pulp dryers.

BÜTTNER has been commissioned to deliver a single-path drum dryer sized 3.8 x 20 R to produce 300 tonnes of dry beet pulp a day which will be used to produce fibrous feed for cattle. The dryer will be heated with a 35 MW BÜTTNER natural-gas burner that's able to evaporate 36 tonnes of water an hour.

The drying plant is to be taken into operation in summer 2015 at the start of the 100-day beet campaign.
